The sport of biking just got a new #1 Fan.

On Saturday, Chuck and I met up with my brother in Sacramento to watch the prologue to the AMGEN Tour of California. This will be the first in a series of bike-related photo posts, because I am now Lance Armstrong's newest fangirl.

As most of you know, I specialize in photos of food and people. Food is easy because it usually just sits there. People are easy too, because my human subjects know better than to breathe while I'm setting up my shots. Professional bikers are annoying, though. They don't pose for anyone. So the first fifty shots I attempted during the prologue looked like this:

I eventually improved my timing, and my shots started looking like this:
I nearly peed in my pants when a biker's face accidentally made it into the frame.

And this? I was convinced this was my crowning achievement.
That's Lance Armstrong about to round the corner, followed by cameras and police detail.
And this is Lance Armstrong giving me the sports shot of my life.

Thank you, Lance! I owe you one.
